So far, since I started my process 2 weeks ago,
I have lost 6 pounds!
10/10 - 215
10/22 - 209
1. I downloaded an app MyFitnessPal (which I already had, but didn't use) which counts my calories, both coming in and out...
2. I have been diligent on watching my caloric intake, being sure to eat WHEN I Need to eat, not just mindless snacking. My snacking has been shifted from crackers/chips to apples & grapes.
3. My obsession with Sweet Tea has been changed to Water. I drink Sweet Tea only at one meal, but not on a daily basis.
4. I have decided to take up Kickboxing as a hobby! I am super excited because I have been trying to find a hobby but not sure what I wanted to do. So, I have a plan, now I must execute it.... I am waiting some wiggle room in the schedule, and I will get started...
HOWEVER....
I have not been so diligent about my exercising...
I am still working on that... Not yet a consistency established. I will do great one week, nothing another week, a little something another week, etc. I really get caught up in other things, work or family related, and I use that as an excuse of WHY I CANT exercise; or I am being plan lazy, but calling it "a long day that I am so tired and need to rest". I have a treadmill in my garage, BUT I don't like to stare at the Laker Gold wall... I enjoy going walking/jogging, BUT run out of time before the sun goes down, and I have the Wii games, BUT don't always feel like doing them. So, what I have is a list of BUTs. My desire to get my body moving is there, but my motivation is not... This is NOT helpful for me or my weightloss goal. (Which is why I chose my quote. )
"If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of quitting them."
So, my goal is to continue what I am doing as far as eating, but increase my consistency with exercise.
I will commit to a minimum of 20 minutes 4 days a week.
(I know that that is not quite enough to lose a ton of weight, but typically, once I start exercising, I will put in a complete effort and complete my workout session... So this is really nothing more than a conscious effort to get the ball rolling.)
So, my quote to get me started is...
"If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of quitting them."
